Humble gym with weak cleaning procedures. I honestly don’t think I’ve ever seen a worker clean. I’ve just seen dust collect as the semester progresses. It’s enough that the people working out don’t clean after themselves but I’ve seen the most dust and sweat stains than I have in all the other gyms ive attended. This picture is just one example.
it’s fine when timing works out, but they have 3 squat racks. for a school with 30,000 people this just doesn’t cut it. they have an entire floor of cardio that maybe 5 will be taken at a time. half the machines are usually broken too
Theres wayyyy too many treadmills i never see more than a handful people using them. The gym doesnt have enough space for the amount of students on campus. Theres an ok amount of free weights for the size of the gym but the machines are lacking.
For someone like me who prefers machines its annoying plus theres only one type of each machine and so its barely ever free to use or if its broken your out of luck.
If i wasnt paying tuition i would probably just go to a different gym.
I walked and talked with my husband for a hour. Exercise plus hubby time = happy woman.
Overall a great gym at a reasonable price. I wish they'd give out some free guest passes to members, and they really need to fix broken equipment faster.
Ultra nice place, however 1/2 of all treadmills, muscle machines, stair steppers, and general exercise equipment is out of order at all times (at least 6 months at time of writing). if you want a specific machine anticipate a 30+ minute wait, and other patrons will not respect your requests for next. They also have primarily paid lockers so bringing a lock for a locker only *might* give you a spot. If you can’t afford another gym this will do, but if you can avoid this one at all costs.
I’m not usually the type of person to leave a review, but this gym is a disaster.
1. It’s too small to serve a community of 30k students.
2. There is way too much cardio equipment. The staff should document what percentage of this equipment is actually used and adjust accordingly.
3. Workout equipment is CONSTANTLY broken or breaking down as you are using. If the equipment had green padding it’s probably about to break down (that’s pretty much everything). You can tell the equipment has been around for a decade or more
4. If equipment is broken during the summer semester it will not get fixed until the week before the fall semester begins. Which is a bit rude since I’m paying $90 to be here on a graduate stipend.
5. I can only speak for the men’s restrooms, but the soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers are also routinely broken. You’d think experiencing a pandemic would make that a bit more of a priority.
6. Why are they making aesthetic renovations? I’d prefer my equipment to work so I can do my planned workout without having to improvise 3 times a week.
I haven’t talked to staff much but they seem nice and just work for people that don’t have their priorities straight.
Very clean gym. Plenty of machines and equipment for everyone. I’ve hardly ever waited for a machine. Quick and easy access on campus is perfect. The large windows make it really enjoyable to work out indoors and have the Mountain View. A lot of the equipment is newer and is in good condition. There’s plenty of large rec areas for open workouts, basketball courts, and group classes.
